At the present time, we are able to offer a fixed charge which covers all of the costs of the surgery. These costs are the surgeon's fees, anesthesia fees and surgery facility charges. We believe that this total fixed charge is the lowest charge which will allow us to maintain the highest standards of excellence and safety.
When providers offer only estimated charges, patients can be surprised (even on routine cases) by total charges which are thousands of dollars more than expected . In the past, we have found that this uncertainty has kept many couples from scheduling the procedure.
Our fixed cost is $7250. This will cover almost all of the variability in charges. If the procedure is complicated unexpectedly in a major way or if other unforeseen events arise, there may be other charges for which the patient and not the center will be liable. This kind of event is expected to be extremely rare.The initial office consult, husband's semen analysis and preoperative lab work will total around $400. If the couple is from out of town, the semen analysis can be done there in a local hospital. We will be happy to order and explain this test by phone. Postoperative medications will cost less than $100. Unless there is confirmation of insurance coverage for this procedure, payment for the surgery is to be arranged in advance.
